Things have changed bit in the online world.

From 25 May 2018 the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect across all member states (which still includes us right now). Basically it created a single set of rules to modernise data privacy laws across Europe.

At Minerelle, we've always taken the security of customer data very seriously. We understand that we have a responsibility to protect and respect your privacy and look after your personal data, so it's welcoming to see things come into line with what we've always believed.

We've given our Privacy Policy a refresh to reflect this.

Minerelle provides information and advice along with sales of installation and aftercare products to solid surface installers within the solid surface industry and to individual consumers who have solid surfaces installed in their homes and or work premises.

For clarity, Minerelle may be both data controller and data processor for your personal data under certain circumstances.

How the law protects you

Data protection laws state that we are only able to process personal data if we have valid reasons to do so. The reasons we process your personal data include, but not limited to, your consent, performance of a contract, billing and to contact you.

We receive information about you when you complete forms on our website, if you contact us by phone, email, or otherwise in respect of any of our products and services or during the purchasing of any such product

The only personal data that we may collect from you includes your name, address, email address and phone numbers, and source of your enquiry or contact with us. We also retain records of your queries and correspondence.

Please be aware that any video, image, or other content made available by you to us whether published content or not, is not subject to our Privacy Notice. We merely process such information on your behalf, subject to our Terms and Conditions and you are responsible for any applicable legal requirements in respect of your content.

How do we use your data?

We may only share your personal data if we are under a duty to disclose data in order to comply with any legal obligation or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Minerelle, our customers, or others.

This includes but is not limited to exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection, credit risk reduction and dispute policies however; we will take steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected.

Your rights

In preventing the use or processing of your personal data, it may delay or prevent us from fulfilling our contractual obligations to you. It may also mean that we shall be unable to provide our services or process any orders placed by you.

You have the right to object to our use of your personal data, or ask us to delete, remove modify or stop using it if there is no need for us to keep it. This is known as your right to be forgotten.

You have the right to a response with 1 month of your request and we will not charge for any request for information regarding the data we hold on you. Where we store your personal data

We store and protect the personal data we collect, including the use of encryption if appropriate, however we do not hold any sensitive data (payment details for example) on file.

All transactional information you provide to us such as name, address, delivery address, order date, order numbers, which site you use to purchase our products, order value and method of shipping is stored in encrypted files in our system and back up within our premises.

Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access.
